Contacting Business Angels in Sevilla

Seville Entrepreneur Day

This 11th of December we traveled to the Barceló Renacimiento Convention Centre in Seville to attend the Andalusia’s Entrepreneur Day.

It seemed somehow appropriate that we visited the city of Seville since that’s where the “Real Casa de la Moneda de Sevilla” (Seville’s Royal Mint) was located back in the times during which the original Real de a Ocho was minted for the subsequent support of the European economy throughout several centuries.

In any case, the event in itself was well worth it. Aimed at entrepreneurs, business people and organizations, it was dedicated to promoting entrepreneurial culture, the exchange of knowledge, establishment of contacts, stimulation of creativity and the generation of new business opportunities through a wide and varied program of professional activities.

Seville Barcelo Entrepreneur Day at the Convention Centre

Different sections were organized as a meeting place between Entrepreneurs and Business Angels:

– In the “Internationalization” section training modules and information related to the internationalization of companies in a globalized world were provided.

– In the “Rounds of financing” area, companies in search of financing presented their project to numerous investors, financial entities and business angels. There were meetings with leading technology-based companies and artificial intelligence startups to explore financing possibilities.

– In the “Knowledge” Corner numerous entities, researchers and experts in I+D explained how to add value to business by applying science and technology.

– In the corner “New industry models” it was possible to see firsthand the latest in the sector of Big Data, drones, video games, virtual reality games, biotechnology, humanoid robots, and others.

All in all it was a very interesting program with lots of opportunities. We managed to establish some contacts with Business Angels and representatives of established firms from the financial and banking sectors, who we’re hoping to bring onboard as Sponsors of the REAL8 project in the near future.
